Did you know that the Irish drink more tea per capita than anyone else in the world? Roughly 6 cups of tea a day, per Irishman. That’s a lot of tea! Once you taste this bold blend, you might understand why!
What Makes This Tea Amazing: Breakfast teas are black tea blends intended to accompany a hearty, rich morning meal and are therefore more robust than afternoon tea blends. They tend to have higher caffeine levels and, because they are so strong, they tend to go well with milk. This Irish Breakfast more than fits the bill.
This blend is made of the blend of February Tanzanian and June 2nd flush Assam, both of which are a robust and full-bodied. Together they really pack a punch! Although I would love to take credit for this fantastic blend, this is one of the few blends that I offer that I did not create myself. Blending with only black teas is not my forte, but I had so many requests for a "breakfast tea" that I decided to offer this pre-blended tea (along with the Canadian Breakfast tea).
Ingredients: Assam black tea (Camellia sinensis)*, Tanzanian black tea (Camellia sinensis)*
*Certified Organic (USDA)
Preparation Steep 1 tsp of tea blend in 8oz of freshly boiled, filtered water for 3-7 minutes. Add milk, lemon or sweetener if desired.
Sizes: Sample Size (enough tea to make 3 cups of tea); Small bag (enough tea to make 30 cups of tea); Large bag (enough tea to make 60 cups of tea).
